Pediatric Neuropsychiatry explained:
The pediatric neuropsychiatrist is a psychiatrist specialized in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of neurologic and pediatric disorders in developmental age.They also work on diagnostic assessments of developmental delays and disorders.
Pediatric neuropsychiatry includes intellectual, language, speech, cognitive, psychomotor and relationship aspects.
The pediatric neuropsychiatrist treats conditions like genetic syndromes, autism, celebral palsy, speech and learning disorders, psychomotor delays, hyperactivity, epylepsy, intellectual disabilities. It also treats disorders common during adolescence like anorexia, bulimia, depression.
The neuropsychiatrist is the head of and collaborates with : Psychologists, Clinical Educators, Speech Therapist, Physiatrists, Rheumatologists, Psychomotor Skills Professionals and Neuro-Psychomotor Skills Professionals.

Neuropsychologists evaluate cognitive function (ex.: memory, attention, speech, problem-solving) and related emotional-motivational aspects; they implement rehabilitation programs addressing neuropsychological functions throughout the different stages of life (childhood, adulthood, old age).
